If you weren't racing you would?: Go Crazy!. How Dave got started racing:   Dave has been involved in racing since the age of 3. He worked on sprint cars, modifieds, and go-karts. In the Summer of 1989, Dave traveled with his father throughout the United States while working on an Outlaw sprint car team. At the age of 12 (1990), Dave started racing go karts. Go Karts:   In 1990, at the age of 12, Dave started racing go karts. In 3 years of kart racing, he compiled 35 feature wins while participating at tracks in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware. Dave's kart racing highlights include 3 track championships - one at Shellhamer Speedway in Leesport (PA), one at Oreville Raceway in Topton (PA), and one at Herbein Raceway in Leesport (PA).
KARS Limited Sprints:   In 1994-1995, Dave raced KARS limited sprints at 9 different race tracks. His first feature win (in only his 8th sprint car race) came on June 18, 1994, at Seacoast Speedway in Delaware.In 1996, Dave ran time trials for the first time and set fast time. In his first run in a non-winged sprint car, Dave finished 4th. In 1997, Dave competed in 56 races at 21 different race tracks in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and Canada.
410 Sprint Cars:   In 1998, Dave began his career in a 410 Sprint Car. He ran 48 races at 8 different tracks. He participated with the World of Outlaws, All Stars and the PA Posse. He compiled 23 top 10 feature finishes (15 of those top 10's were out of the last 17 races he ran), 20 top 15 finishes and won 7 qualifying heats (including one with the World of Outlaws).In 1999, Dave competed in 70 races garnering 47 top 10 finishes. In races against the World of Outlaws, Dave earned a 6th, 8th and 11th place finish. In 8 All Star races, Dave finished in the top 10 six times. Dave finished 4th in points at both Williams Grove and Lincoln Speedways and was awarded the "Most Improved Driver" award at both tracks. On September 10, 1999, Dave won his first 410 sprint car feature. It was the All-Star sanctioned preliminary night of the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.
